Are Extreme Tornados a Harbinger of Global Warming?

In particular, Doppler radar has made it much easier to detect EF-0 tornados (with wind speeds of 65 to 85 mph), resulting in a dramatic rise in the numbers reported. If you exclude those, the agency reports, “There has been little trend in the frequency of the stronger tornadoes over the past 55 years.” Similarly, the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s 2012 report on trends on weather extremes concludes that there is no evidence for either an increase or a decrease in tornado frequency or intensity.

Government Is Addicted to Crackpot Scare Tactics

The key to understanding the political system is found in this quotation from journalist H.L. Mencken: “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”

DOJ: Social Media Posts Trashing Muslims May Violate Civil Rights

In its latest effort to protect followers of Islam in the U.S. the Obama Justice Department warns against using social media to spread information considered inflammatory against Muslims, threatening that it could constitute a violation of civil rights.

What if the information considered ‘inflammatory’ is the truth?

Oh-kay….. Let us try a little experiment:

Argentinian prosecutor alleges Iranian terror activity in South America

In particular, Nisman named Mohsen Rabbani, a former Iranian cultural attache, as the coordinator of Iranian clandestine activities on the continent.

Nisman also outlined Iran’s “dual use of diplomatic offices, cultural or charity associations and even mosques, as coverage to hide illegal activities.”

Using a mosque for illegal activities?!  I am shocked, shocked.

Plan to create first U.S. marijuana brand

Washington state’s marijuana consultant, Mark Kleiman, said he was skeptical of Shively’s plans, and feared that the businessman is seeking to profit off others’ addiction.

Addiction?  Really?  Like what is sold by Diageo plc,

Hmmm.  Profit off mind altering substances:  Bars, restaurants, casinos, grocery and convenience stores, liquor stores.  Indirectly; tax revenue, police, courts, lawyers, counseling groups.

Obama’s ex-aides, it’s time to profit

In a statement, White House spokesman Eric Schultz said, “Our goal has been to reduce the influence of special interests in Washington — which we’ve done more than any administration in history.”

“These restrictions are intended to avoid conflicts of interests, but do not and should not prohibit former government officials from expressing their opinions or participating in a public exchange of ideas,” he added.

We. Are. Going.To. Make. Bank. Bitches.  So STFU.

Schools scanned students’ irises without permission

“With this program, we will be able to identify when and where a student gets on the bus, when they arrive at their school location, when and what bus the student boards and disembarks in the afternoon. This is an effort to further enhance the safety of our students…..”

Nothing to worry about, nothing to see.  We know what we are doing.  We are the experts.  Really.  We would never give or share this information with any other agency.

Florida police say the “dehumanizing stares” a 14-year-old boy directed at officers together with his body language presented a threat, prompting an arrest and a brutal take down by cops — that was caught on video by the teen’s mother.

McMillian, who faced a robbery charge once before, now faces felony resisting arrest with violence and disorderly conduct. He pleaded not guilty in court and is scheduled for trial in juvenile court July 16.

Reads like the youth is not someone you what to hire as a babysitter.  But the reason/excuse by the police for the take-down is really, really weak.

State law allows for children 12 or older to consent to medical care involving the prevention of sexually transmitted disease without parental consent.

‘Ta hell with the math homework…..’

How does that work out within the CA legal framework?

What’s the legal age to consent to sex in California?

California.  The age of consent is 18, with a misdemeanor if the minor has 3 or fewer years of difference with the major, and potentially a felony if the major is more than 3 years older. Penalties increase if the adult is 21 or older and the child is 15 or younger. It is automatically a felony if the minor is under 14. It is worth emphasizing[citation needed] that unlike some other states, the close-in-age rule in California (3 years) do not provide an exception nor provide any defense; it merely lowers the crime to a misdemeanor. Under this law, two minors of the same age could both be prosecuted.

McAuliffe Blamed Bush For Father’s Death – Why not Bushitler still controls the weather and economy, right?

Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia, once blamed his father’s death on President George W. Bush’s election in 2000.

In a May 2001 interview with C-SPAN, titled the “Life and Career of Terry McAuliffe,” the former Democratic National Committee chairman says one of the “reasons” his father, Jack, died was “he could not go into a new year knowing that a Republican was actually moving into the White House.”

Tesla Tripling Number of Charging Stations

Tesla will be tripling the number of its supercharger stations by the end of June, and by the end of the year, its expansion program will allow Tesla drivers to go from Los Angeles to New York

  • Car = ~$120,000.oo
  • Distance LA to NYC = 2790 miles
  • Average speed = ~50 mph
  • Average distance on a full charge = 245 miles
  • Recharge time with new ‘Superchargers’ = ~1 hour (don’t worry, there will not be a line)
  • Average drive time = 55.8 hours
  • Number of charges needed (perfect conditions) = 12
  • Hours for charging = 12+ hours
  • Total trip time = 67.8 (perfect conditions)

A few questions I have:

Do these number make sense or add up, for you?

Does anyone who pays 120k for ‘sedan’ drive from LA to NYC?

What will you do if it breaks down in …… the middle of Kansas?

Uh oh: “Where can you get it fixed?
You can bring it into a Tesla Service center near you or Tesla has a mobile service team that takes auto service to the next level. Offering ‘house calls’ to Roadster owners, $1 a mile from the nearest Tesla service center; the min. charge of $100.”  It’s okay, the owner can afford 120k+ for a Tesla, they can afford a $1.00 a mile for the technician to drive to them.  I hope they bring the right parts……..
